One could look at The Comedy Store as one of the founding fathers of the current comedy scene in London, and we wouldn’t dispute that! It’s been around since 1979 and has since hosted some amazing acts from fantastic comedians including the late great Robin Williams.

We also love the overall intimate vibe of the comedy club even though it’s spacious enough to seat 400 butts. This, paired with the talented comedians doing open mics from around the world, makes for memorable laugh-out-loud moments.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete comedy night without some drinks and chow, and fortunately, The Comedy Store excels in both. Whether you’re craving burgers, pizza or light bites, you can expect their kitchen to whip up something delicious!

Angel Comedy Club

Operating hours: Daily from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Angel Comedy Club has been around since 2010 and since then, they’ve been featuring banger shows non-stop, as they’re one of the few clubs that open seven days a week! In total, they’re able to hold an astonishing number of 40 shows per week.

Our favourite thing about Angel Comedy Club is that it doesn’t present itself as a business out to get its customer’s money. In fact, it makes an effort to produce free shows and if it’s not, you won’t have to pay a pretty penny—respect!

We also appreciate how they provide a platform for up-and-comers, who are always fun to watch because who knows, maybe they’ll be the next big comedian in films. At the same time, they also feature regulars who are well-known in the local scene.

Camden Comedy Club

If you don’t want to spend more than a tenner for a night full of laughs, then Camden Comedy Club should be right up your alley! It hosts amazing stand-up acts and open mics seven days a week and the guests range from up-and-comers to well-established TV names—pretty cool!

One of the things we love about Camden Comedy Club is its super intimate setting, featuring a small but breathable L-shaped room. The stage itself is simple, featuring a red backdrop and a neon light of the bar’s name—simplicity is key!

We also love the variety they offer per night, as they’ll host anything from total improv shows to your regular stand-up comedy shows. It’s also where well-known acts try out their new materials sometimes, so it’s worth checking out!

Top Secret Comedy Club is one of the highest-rated comedy bars in London, and it’s not hard to see why with its amazing local shows every night of the week. If you’re wondering why they’re named this way, it’s because they hold surprise mystery celebrity guest shows!

These shows are their biggest draws and have featured the likes of Dave Chappelle, Louis CK, Chris Rock and other big-name comedians. This type of mystery makes it all the more worth it to check out their shows at random days of the week—plus, they’re cheap as well!

Speaking of cheap, you can also enjoy super affordable beers here as well! With that being said, expect a rowdy crowd and an overall fun and banter-filled experience but don’t worry because the acts can handle it!

The 99 Club has been the recipient of the Best London Comedy Club award multiple times, and it’s not hard to see why when you see its lineups. From Joe Bor to Marlon Davis, Carl Donnelly, and more, the local comedians you can watch here are stacked!

It’s also great value for money, as you won’t have to spend more than 20 pounds to watch 4 high-quality acts in one night.

As for the setting, it’s much more sophisticated compared to other comedy clubs, but don’t be fooled! It can get rowdy in a snap, especially when specific comedians take centre stage.

The Bill Murray is located just beside Angel Comedy Club and it’s the first ever “community comedy club”. It charges little to no entrance fee and it’s dedicated to lovers of comedy who want to catch multiple acts in one night—perfect for ending a stress-filled week!

The shows here can range from solo works to improv and anything in between so you’ll never know what to expect (unless you check their calendar.) Nonetheless, it’s a great place to check out up-and-comers try out their new materials and veterans do their iconic bits.
