3. Havwoods

Address: 26-27 Great Sutton St
Phone: +44 1524 737000
Business hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Havwoods is known for their stylish and high-end wood flooring options, often seen in luxury homes and commercial spaces.
We’ve seen a lot of collections, but nothing quite like theirs. With unique textures and finishes, including smoked oak, reclaimed wood, and intricate chevron or herringbone patterns, their designs truly stand out.
These designs also work on walls, ceilings, cabinetry, and stairs, giving your entire home a more custom look. They offer exceptional customer service, too, with staff who are highly knowledgeable about different wood types and installation methods.
We had a chance to check out their stunning showroom, and seeing the flooring up close made all the difference. It’s the perfect way to get a real feel for the textures and finishes before making a decision.
Moreover, they partner exclusively with reputable timber suppliers and go the extra mile to ensure every piece of wood is ethically and sustainably sourced before it reaches your home.
A potential drawback, though, is that their products come at a premium price, and their selection is geared more toward luxury buyers. While they do offer some mid-range options, those looking for budget-friendly choices might find fewer selections here.
Stunning showroom and products
“The customer service at Havwoods in Clerkenwell was outstanding. I spoke to Sevda who was wonderful – she was extremely knowledgeable and happy to help with all my (sometimes clueless) questions. She was extremely patient whilst we contemplated what we wanted and listened which meant everything she showed me was spot on to our needs. The hard part was making a decision! The showroom is stunning, as are the products. Would highly recommend. Thank you Sevda! :)”

My favorite home renovation project so far
“My finished floor looks amazing! I did my whole floor project during COVID-19, so I wasn’t able to visit the stores, but the customer support team was great. They sent me as many samples as I wanted, no questions asked. They weren’t pushy at all to make a sale, which is important to me as I hate being pressured. I ended up going with a chevron parquet which, now installed, looks absolutely fantastic and is a real statement in my new flat in London. Love it. Will recommend this company to anyone. Everyone comments on my floor and I’m so proud of it, might have been my favourite home renovation project so far!”

You can also make use of their innovative room visualizer, an augmented reality tool that lets you see how the flooring will look in your space. We got to try it out on their website, and it made choosing the right style for us surprisingly easy and fun!
One of their biggest advantages, though, is their fast delivery service, perfect if you’re on a tight renovation schedule. Additionally, you can order samples from their easy-to-navigate website before committing to a purchase.
Despite the positives, customers have mentioned that their showroom is smaller than expected. And while their customer service is generally good, a few buyers have reported occasional issues with delivery delays.
Amazing customer service and delivery
“I have ordered from Wood and Beyond before and I was very impressed with the quality of the vinyl click flooring. It was a perfect match to the French polished oak staircase I was installing. Their customer service and delivery is amazing! I would highly recommend using them.”

5. British Hardwoods

Address: The Crossings Business Park
Phone: +44 1535 637755
Business hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

British Hardwoods Flooring is an excellent choice for those who value craftsmanship and sustainability. Specializing in British-grown hardwoods, their selection includes stunning oak, ash, and walnut.
Plus, their wood is locally and ethically sourced, making them a fantastic option for eco-conscious homeowners.
Their staff are also knowledgeable and always happy to give expert advice on choosing the right wood and keeping it looking its best. Additionally, they offer custom milling services, meaning you can get tailored plank sizes, finishes, and textures to match your exact vision.
But what really makes British Hardwoods stand out is their attention to detail. We were lucky enough to see their boards up close and learned that each one is handcrafted by skilled artisans, meaning you’re not just getting flooring—you’re bringing home a piece of art.
However, when we visited their showroom, we noticed it wasn’t as large as some competitors, so in-person browsing options are slightly limited.
Not to mention, their pricing leans toward the higher end, reflecting the premium craftsmanship and sustainable sourcing behind each product.
Amazing oak flooring in our kitchen
“Just wanted to thank the British Hardwoods team for the amazing oak flooring in our kitchen. They were really good at helping us select the right flooring and making sure our order was processed quickly and delivered as expected. They also helped find us a local fitter that made an excellent job. We’re really pleased with the end result which looks great and has proven itself time again. Being a busy family kitchen means that the oak flooring has literally had everything thrown at it but still looks great after a quick sweep or mop. Highly recommended !”

Friendly staff and fantastic selection
“Such a friendly place and all the staff were so helpful. Fantastic selection of beautiful woods and great prices. We went to their open day and everyone including exhibitors were exceptionally nice and willing to freely give out information. We have been before pre-pandemic, but the open day has really developed into a much bigger and better event. Definitely worth a visit.”
